**** Why use Shampoo bars? ****
Tata's Back to Ma' Roots Shampoo bars do not contain harsh surfactants like sulfates (sodium lauryl sulfate) silicones and like parabens. Harsh chemicals can damage the hair and strip away naturally moisturizing essential oils. Create hair loss and strip natural oils from hair shafts that are there to protect hair cuticles, love your scalp stop that unwanted hair fall!
Many traditional bottle shampoos are filled with preservatives and chemicals that strip hair of its natural oils and leave the scalp dry. Shampoo bars contain many more natural ingredients that are good for hair, such as natural oils, tallow, vitamins, clays and minerals. My Tata’s shampoo bars contain Essential Oils like lavender, Teatree, rosemary and more to promote a healthy scalp.
That is why on my packaging, you will see sustainable ingredients like high oleic sunflower oil, karanja oil, olive oil, jojoba oil, or coconut oil and many more, which give your hair vitality and moisture. Just make the test! Pick up any traditional shampoo and insert the long list of ingredients into the Environmental Working Group database. Gentle on our planet too! No plastic container.
One shampoo bar can last approximately 60 to 80 washes according to hair length, equivalent to 2 to 3 bottles of liquid shampoo! No more need to shop that frequently. Because shampoo bars are more concentrated than traditional shampoos and conditioners, you can use less per application and last longer.
My goals are to create a healthy happy scalp that produces healthy clean roots that nourish hair shafts. Strip out the bad and leave your natural balance alone which in turn promotes healthy hair growth. Soften and create healthy happy locks. We ask so much of our hair why not give back and show it some love. I’m not saying its meant for everyone, but its defiantly meant for me!
******** Are you new to shampoo bars? *******
It takes about a week or two for hair to adjust to shampoo bars
First and foremost, something I noticed after making the switch to shampoo bars is that your hair needs time to adjust to the new shampoo. So if you’re brand new to using shampoo bars, don’t dismiss them in the first week.
It takes about a week or 2 depending how often you wash your hair to fully adjust to the new shampoo, and in that timeframe, your hair may appear greasy. Stick with it. It’s not forever. Its stripping the bad stuff from your scalp and hair. It will pass. In turn you will have soft light clean happy hair and scalp! I also recommend not washing your hair everyday. Two to three times a week is fine. =)
************* How do I use Shampoo bar? ***********
1. Wet your hair
Make sure your hair is completely wet. Shampoo bars don't contain as much water as liquid shampoo, so they need plenty of water to lather and clean.
2. Lather the bar
Rub the shampoo bar between your wet hands to create a lather. You can also hold the bar under warm water to soften it.
3. Apply the lather
I recommend starting at the roots and working your way down. Massage the lather into your roots, about an inch away from scalp. I run the lather through my stands I allow the shampoo to sit in my hair for about 1-2 mins (bars are packed with good stuff I want my roots and scalp to absorb all that good stuff.) You can also run the bar through your strands. That's how I personally do it. Play with it and find what works best for you and your hair! You can repeat the lather, massage (I use a scalp brush massager), and rinse steps for a more thorough wash if you have oily or greasy hair. After use, you can store the shampoo bar in a soap bar holder and leave it exposed to air until it's completely dry.
If you do not get a lather that means your hair still has dirt, oil or product build up in it. Rinse and repeat until you get a nice clean lather. =)
4. Rinse
Rinse your hair slowly running the shampoo through your hair thoroughly to remove any foam or hair residue.

5. Apply conditioner
If needed, apply Tata's Conditioner Bar to wet hair, focusing on the ends. Wait 3 to 5 minutes, then rinse.
6. Weekly Vinegar Rinse
If you are new to shampoo bars, or are using hard water, I recommend rinsing your scalp and hair with organic apple cider vinegar after using the shampoo bar. The acv helps with ph balance, de-tangles, and adds softness. Mix 1-2tb to 8 oz water Slowly pour the solution across scalp and allow it to run down length of hair. Wait a couple of minutes before rinsing. You will will not smell like vinegar once your hair dries I promise! I like adding a couple drops of a gentle essential oil to my vinegar rinse. Do the vinegar rinse once a week to every other week for as long as you think you need to. I do a monthly to a bi-monthly rinse. Just for the benefits! =)
